In Memory of a Very Courageous Cat - Rest now.

In Memory of a Very Courageous Cat - Rest now.

These images and clips were taken in the afternoon, 14 Aug 09. Banana passed away quietly that night at 10.30pm. I had only known her for 2 days.

Banana was driven over by car she was sleeping under about a month ago. The right side of her body suffered serious fractures with the jaw and skull area crushed and sunk in. Her head and brain was damaged and she has lost all orientation. Since then, she can only stagger forward and will be stuck if she hits an obstacle she cannot stumble over. She is not able to turn or walk back and will be trapped there until she collapses from exhaustion.

Most of the time, she will be simply staring into space, oblivious to everything around her. Or completely collapsed in her cage. That Banana still finds the strength to walk briefly is a testament of her incredible will to survive.

She has also sustained severe internal injuries and can only take a little liquid which has to be dripped slowly into her mouth or she will choke. She is like a limp doll when handled and completely pliant. She has also lost all bowel control and needs to be constantly cleaned of bleeding from her lower regions and jaw areas.

The owner runs a small factory and has been very hard hit by the recession. She was unable to has to sent Banana for treatment and already fully stretched to sustain the 40-odd cats under her care. Several of them were abandoned at her doorstep.

I took these pictures and clips hoping to start a donation drive for Banana's treatment. But she passed away that same night after I took them.

This is in memory of a very dedicated owner and an extremely strong-willed and courageous animal.

She has lost control of her senses and and got stuck in the wall. Also collapsing after loosing balance.

Close-up and in cage. Exhausted and lost.
