New Zealand cat saves couple from blaze

New Zealand cat saves couple from blaze

One couple in New Zealand, Kate Gatonyi and her partner Bevan Garland, were annoyed when their cat Maceo woke them by walking on their faces with wet paws. But, it seems that their furry friend knew exactly what he was doing!

As soon as the pair woke up they realized that their neighbor's shed, which is located very close to their home, was on fire, according to Monsters and Critics.

It seems kitty had gone into the bathroom, wet its paws in their toilet bowl and made a point of disturbing the couple in order to alert them of the dangerous blaze!

The pair, who lives in Arrowtown, South Island, made it out and are safe and sound thanks to their pet, the news source reports.

Keep this story in mind the next time you consider visiting a local animal rescue shelter to pick up a feline friend. Who knows - your cat could save your life someday!
